Cultural Information:
Grows best on moist, deep soils but is also found in dryer, more coarse soils. A common shrub throughout its native range in the eastern US. Tends to grow a bit long and leggy but can be used effectively if massed together. Grows quickly in the nursery to 6’+ in one year.

This shrub has small, white flowers in spring and is quite lovely. There seems to be some disagreement as to what the native range of this species really is; some say it’s native “to Ohio” while others seem to say the native range extends into Ohio.
