Pin Cherry, Gray Birch, Red Maple, Sugar Maple, Beech, Yellow Birch, Black Cherry, Bur Oak, White Oak, Tuliptree, Red Maple and Black Oak
Field Observations:
A fine tree for all seasons. Spring and summer growth produces a glossy, dark green leaf that makes this oak easy to identify from a distance. Fall brings a fine red show that lasts for weeks. Red oaks do very well in central Ohio on our limestone soil. Chlorosis has not been observed in the trees we use for seed.
