|2'-3'+ Shrub in 3 gallon Container - Nursery Pick Up Only
Plant in a partially shaded location in moist, acid soil. Although it can be planted in full sun it appears that keeping the roots cool is one key to success.
No records for associated species but seemingly would do well with other species adapted to wetter conditions like buttonbush, silky dogwoods, Sycamores, Red Maples, Swamp White Oaks, Shellbark Hickories, Pin Oaks and Sweetgum.
We planted a few of these around the nursery as seed trees in 2011. They get just a couple of hours of full sun per day and are situated on the east side of the house to protect them from winter winds. The one closest to the house has done very well and is now 7′ and bloomed beautifully this year!
