Cultural Information: 

A swamp or bog dweller growing to 20′ and spreading by suckers.  Fall color is yellow and gold and reputed by some to be the best Serviceberry in the group.  Fruit is black and sweet.

Field Observations: 

We have not observed this plant in the wild.  Range maps do not have it being native to Ohio but it’s knocking on the door in western PA and WV.  A good candidate for providing food for wildlife.
