Cultural Information:

Plants are easily cultivated in almost any soil type in full or part sun.  White fruit persists after leaf drop into the colder months providing winter interest.  The plant spreads by underground runners generally creating an unruly thicket.  Berries are important sources of food for birds and other animals.  Fruit is toxic to people if ingested.

An attractive shrub with deep green foliage and brilliant white fruit.  Often found in dry or moist open forests.  An extensive native range in the US extending from Alaska south to California and east across the entire country.
