Fall 2015 and winter 2016 was and is a busy time in our nursery.  The biggest physical upgrade was the installation and tap-in of county water.  Our current well provides a much lower quality water than available through the county system so it was an easy, albeit, expensive decision to make.   Our website has been expanded to include this new nursery stock page which outlines the species we are working into our general production.  From our perspective “new” means this species was not offered for sale last year.  Some tree and shrub species have a 3 to 5 year cycle between abundant seed sets so we are not able to sell every species every year.   Our hope is that by keeping you informed of our growing plans you can make your planting plans more easily.  We have always sought to increase plant diversity whenever possible and encourage you to look into these species when you are making your plans.  There are a number of tree and shrub species commonly found growing in many different habitats that are often not found in the nursery trade.   The reason for this often goes back to how difficult the seeds are to germinate.  Our native Viburnum spp. have an 8 to 9 month stratification protocol before they’ll even consider germination.  We are currently working with them in the hopes of a later summer germination.

Band Pot inventory carried through the winter is very low.  We will begin planting new Band Pots very soon.  We will have the current Band Pot inventory posted in mid-March.  We will do our best to keep this new inventory and our normal inventory updated online.  If you have any questions please feel free to call or email.
